Gamers now have a place they can call “home” with the launch of Ground Zero e-Sports Lounge at Xentro Mall, Antipolo City, North Metro Manila (NMM).
And they don’t have to be alone.
In an email to SDN — Scitetech and Digital News, it was learned that Ground Zero’s major objectives include becoming “an avenue that join today’s gamers to yesterday’s roots, while simultaneously linking them to the people around them — their family, friends, and the greater community, as the perfect place to gather and connect.”

Moving forward, Ground Zero, which was formally inaugurated recently, also seeks to become “the one-stop-shop for the gamer looking for a high-end gaming experience with premier amenities.”
Owners of the lounge noted what they call the exponential rise of gaming and e-sports in the mainstream in the Philippines as well as the need for spaces where gamers can gather.
Thus, it is important for the local cybercafé industry to step up their game (no pun intended) to keep abreast with clientele’s demand.
Offering of PCs with impressive specs, dining options
The lounge offers not only PCs for gaming with impressive specifications, but also dining options with wide range of offerings, not to mention an upscale ambiance.
“Ground Zero is the perfect hangout for gamers and non-gamers alike. For the gamers looking for a break from battle, their families, friends, or more casual internet users, Ground Zero also provides an expansive menu of specialty gaming-themed dishes and drinks, complete from appetizers to desserts, cocktails, and coffee,” they said.
Gamers or non-gamers, there are also available 15 units of 55 inches TV sets which stream the most prestigious e-sports tournaments.

Eric Redulfin, who chairs TNC Cyber Café, cited the goal of Ground Zero.
“Gusto namin na magkaroon sila ng lugar na mapupuntahan ng magkakasama — ‘yung mga gamers, ‘yung mga pamilya nila, mga magulang, mga kaibigan. Dito, pwedeng magkita lahat, at may mahahanap silang mae-enjoy,” he said in Pilipino.

To boost its attractions, Ground Zero’s 87 regular PC units are equipped with cutting-edge specs: Z730 Gigabyte motherboards, 8th Generation Intel i5 processors, NVIDIA GTX 1060 GPUs, 16GB RAM. To play, the cost is Php80 per hour.

All the PC units have the power to easily run the latest triple-A games and today’s biggest competitive multi-player games nary a sweat and at full HD (high definition) to boot provided by Acer Predator XB241H monitors on all the units.
