(SDN) — If you still don’t know, Malacanang will implement the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) in the National Capital Region (NCR)+ bubble on Monday, March 29, until April 4, 2021.

There will also be a curfew in the NCR+ bubble from 6 p.m to 5 a.m. The NCR+ bubble covers Metro Manila and the provinces of Bulacan, Laguna, Rizal, and Cavite.

Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque announced this to the media, which CNN Philippines reported.

Roque emphasized the implementation of the ECQ will be on Monday at 12:01 a.m., to give the people a time to prepare; not tomorrow (Sunday).

He said some of the ECQ regulations put in place during the first ECQ will be followed.

The government is implementing the new ECQ apparently owing to uncontrolled transmission and spread of SARS-CoV-2, the virus driving the Covid-19 pandemic that started in Wuhan City, Hubei, China, as reported to the World Health Organization on December 19, 2019.

Earlier, ABS-CBN reported that the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) recommended in the imposition of the ECQ.

As of today, March 27, the Department of Health (DOH) reported that the total cases in the country have now reached 712,441 after new infections were added (9,595); 13,159 fatalities; and 581,161 patients recovered.
