(SDN) — “Walang iiwanan”! (No one to be left behind.)
The Ministry of the Interior and Local Government (MILG) led by youthful Minister Atty. Naguib G. Sinarimbo is living up to this slogan.
And the beneficiaries of the projects are the 63 villages (barangays) in North Cotabato province dubbed Special Geographic Area (SAG) under the jurisdiction of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM). North Cotabato is not part of the Bangsamoro region but the 63 villages chose to join the BARMM as they voted in a plebiscite.
Aside from the SGA, BARMM is comprised of the provinces of Basilan, Lanao del Sur, Maguindanao, Sulu and Tawi-Tawi and the cities of Cotabato, Lamitan, and Marawi.
Through the MILG the Bangsamoro government headed by Chief Minister Al-hajj Murad Ebrahim, the chairman of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILG) has been implementing several infrastructure projects in the region’s various areas.
The construction projects include Municipal Halls, Public Terminals, Public Markets, Barangay Halls, and Philippine National Police (PNP) Stations, among others. MILG is also putting up desalination facilities in the region’s water-starved municipalities; it is also rehabilitating the Marawi City Water System in Lanao del Sur. Together, the water-related projects amounted to Php430 million.
Some of the projects have already been completed, many others in the state of construction.
On December 25, 2021, Sinarimbo led the simultaneous groundbreaking for the construction of four additional 2-storey barangay halls in Kadingilan, Matilac, Datu Mantil, and Libungan Torreta all covered by the SGA’s Pigkawayan Cluster.
As the MILG continues spreading the BARMM’s construction boom, Sinarimbo said Maguindanao’s Sultan sa Barongis (SSB) Municipality under Mayor Mamatanto M. Mamantal will also receive its MILG-funded Municipall.
“The project will start implementation this January. We congratulate the LGU (local government unit) of SSB and its constituents,” he said.
Sinarimbo expressed hopes the new structure will further enhance governance and service delivery in this municipality. (EKU) — (✓)
