COTABATO CITY, 14th March 2023 โ The Bangsamoro Government turned over a new fire truck outfitted with equipment to the Police Regional Office-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (PRO-BAR) at the Bangsamoro READi grounds earlier today through the Interior Affairs Services (IAS) of the Ministry of the Interior and Local Government (MILG).
MILG Minister Atty. Naguib G. Sinarimbo and Deputy Minister Abunawas โVon Al-Haqโ L. Maslamama turned over the firefighting vehicle to PRO-BAR Regional Director Police Brig. Gen. John G. Guyguyon who officially received it.
Guyguyon said the PNP is โlooking forward to a stronger partnershipโ with the Bangsamoro Government through the MILG in maintaining peace and security in the region.
The parties also signed a Memorandum of Agreement for the official handover of the firetruck, witnessed by representatives from the PRO-BAR and the MILG, including IAS Director Atty. Marvin K. Mokamad.
In addition to the firetruck and equipment, MILG provided additional office supplies to the PRO-BARโs Human Rights Affairs and Regional Legal Office.
Meanwhile, Sinarimbo, who recently returned from an โAustralia Study Visit for Philippine Officials โ Criminal Justice Responses to Violent Extremism,โ emphasized that the Ministry will collaborate closely with the PNP to strengthen its approach in the expansion of its Project Tulong ng Gobyernong Nagmamalasakit (TuGoN) by partnering with more stakeholders to counter extremist narratives, among other things.
One of the Ministryโs main services is support to law enforcement, which aims to empower them and make them more effective partners of the Bangsamoro Government in achieving lasting peace and sustainable development in the Bangsamoro Region. (โ)
