That’s the first parliamentary election in the Philippines, after President Ferdinand R. No. 11054, as Amended, Otherwise Known as the Organic Law for the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.”
SDN – SciTech and Digia News learned about this through a report by the Philippine Center for Investigative Journalism (PCIJ).
BARMM’s parliamentary polls was supposed to be at the same time with the midterm National and Local Elections (NLE) on My 12, 2025, but the removal of Sulu from the BARMM was cited as one among the reasons for the postponement.
According to the PCIJ per its sources, the President may appoint (meaning replaced) some of the 80 members of the Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA).
Those who already filed their Certificate of Candidacy (COC) do not need to refile for the October 13 regional parliamentary polls based on the law. EDD K. USMAN (♡)
