On Wednesday (October 21, 2021), the food company sent the truckload of noodle donation to the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF) in Quezon City, along Commonwealth Avenue. They were intended for flood victims in Muslim communities in Ilocos Sur province parts of which suffered from devastation Typhoon “Maring” wrought recently.

“The NCMF and Secretary Saidamen B. Pangarungan thanked Ms. Lim and Shemica, Inc. for the generous donation, and for entrusting the NCMF with the items. Truly, the public’s trust in the Commission is proven by acts such as this,” said Dr. Dimapuno A. Datu-Ramos, NCMF spokesman and director of its Bureau of External Relations (NCMF-BER).

He said NCMF Administrative Services Director Abdullah Macarimpas received the notice for a massive halal-certified food donation given by a member of the private sector.

Datu-Ramos added the act of Shemica, Inc. took inspiration from the Commission’s series of relief operations conducted by NCMF-North Luzon headed by Regional Director Atty. Raihana Sarah Macarimpas and NCMF-South Luzon under Ceasar Maranda, and NCMF-National Capital Region led by Regional Director Mi-toon Ibra.

The BER director said Director Macarimpas welcomed and received the donation upon its arrival at the NCMF Central Office, supervising the food donation’s unloading.

“This morning (Wednesday)), the delivery truck with 1000 boxes of Reeva Noodles, donated by owner Sheila Lim of Shemica Inc., arrived at the NCMF-Central Office. Included in the delivery were 250 boxes of noodles in lobster flavor, the company’s best seller, and the beef and chicken flavors. Each box contains 30 pieces of noodles, each piece retailing at Php 11, with the total donation amounting to Php 300,000. All their noodles are halal-certified, and will be delivered by the NCMF to Muslim Filipino communities severely affected by the typhoon,” he said.
