MBHTE Minister Mohagher Iqbal issued Rgional Memorandum No. 35, s. 2022, dated April 1, 2022 titled MBHTE-BARMM 2022 Election Task Force.

Minister Iqbal said the members of the Bangsamoro election task force shall be from the Regional and Division Election Task Force with the job to make sure that all personnel, teaching and non-teaching, shall be provided with adequate information, technical support, and legal assistance as they conduct their duties as members of the Electoral Board on May 09, 2022 National and Local Elections.
He added in his memorandum that there will be five groups or units comprising the Regional and Division Election Task Force, such as Steering Group, Operations and Legal Support Group, Secretariat, Call Center Monitoring Data Base Unit, and Logistics and External Coordination Mobile Unit. Each of the five groups or units has a leader and three staffs.
Minister Iqbal directed School Division Offices (SDOs) to compose their Division Election Task Force which it should be submitted to the MBHTE on or before April 13, 2022.
To be voted for the forthcoming elections are President, Vice President, senators, congressmen, governors, city and municipal mayors, councilmen, and party-list representatives.
Election for the BARMM elective positions are not included as President Rodrigo R. Duterte approved the deferment of the first-ever parliamentary regional election in the Bangsamoro region, thereby, extending the life of the Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA) to 2025.
The BTA headed by Chief Minister Al-Hajj Murad Ebrahim runs the BARMM government. Its term was supposed to expire this year with the regional polls synchronized with the 2022 political exercise.
Thus, the Bangsamoro region’s first political exercise had been postponed to May 2025, prolonging the BTA’s life to three more years. — JaggEDDge (✓)
