COTABATO CITY — The Cotabato City Schools Division Office (SDO) has distinguished itself from the rest in the Bangsamoro region after winning the first-ever Bangsamoro Quiz Bowl Competition 2023 held on January 24, here in the city’s People’s Palace (City Hall).

Representing the champion SDO, which received a cash prize of Php50,000, were Shannarayne Camino Ampatuan, Aieesha Ameena Shanique M. Sajili, Durriyah M. Abdulnasser, and Khristine Grace L. Mucosa, all from Cotabato City National High School (CCNHS) – Main Campus.
The competition was one of the education-related activities conducted by the Ministry of Basic, Higher and Technical Education (MBHTE) headed by Minister Mohagher M. Iqbal in line with the celebration of the 4th Bangsamoro Foundation Day (BFD) on January 21-27.
Iqbal, also a Member of Parliament (MP) extended his congratulations to all the participants, winners or not, underscoring that failure is really part of one’s success.
Lanao del Sur II Division took the first runner-up. Their representatives, Abol Caiz A. Pagrangan, Juhanah A. Casim, Noralia A. Tahir, and Ebtizam U. Macadatar, received a cash prize of Php40,000.
The Php30,000 cash prize went to Yasrinah U.H. Aiman, Nabila S. Maamor, Johanisah H.C. Maruhom, and Rahmanyza P. Sultan from Marawi City Division who placed second runner-up.
A Php20,000 cash prize went to the fourth runner-up, Sulu Division, represented by Safeeya A. Mala, Denrajeev H. Jondam, Alyasin Amer Hadjiisah, and Sasiuno A. Maang.
Emphasizing the importance of education, Iqbal also said that “the success of the learner does not affect their status.”
“Mas umaangat ang buhay ng tao kapag edukado” (One’s life progresses if you are educated),
he said,at the same time reminding the participants to “magsumikap dahil ang pag-aaral ay isang portion lang ng buhay” (strive because studying is a part of life). (/)
