New PNP Head for BARMM Pays Courtesy Call on MILG, Minister Sinarimbo

(SDN) — The Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (BAR) has new Philippine National Police (PNP) regional director, Police General Arthur Cabalona.

On February 11, 2022, the police general and his senior staff officers paid a courtesy call on the Ministry of the Interior and Local Government (MILG) and Minister Naguib G. Sinarimbo.

With his party also was Cotabato City Police Director Colonel Rommel Javier.

Sinarimbo said he and the PNP officers discussed a range of subject matters.

“We discussed a wide range of issues from the peace process to the forthcoming elections and the continuing partnership between our ministry and the PRO BAR (Police Regional Office BAR). The good police general reiterated his directive to all members of the PNP in the region to remain apolitical and neutral in the elections,” the MILG head said.

The MILG chief provided Cabalona some information of what his ministry is doing for the PNP in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).

“We also took the opportunity to briefed him on the ongoing partnership between our ministry and the PNP and our support which includes, among others, the construction of Municipal Police Stations across the Region. To date, there are four ongoing constructions, one completed, and 10 undergoing procurement.

“We also procured and delivered five units of Police Car to the PNP, 16 units of PNP cars are undergoing procurement process. More importantly, we are funding this year the construction of a new PNP Regional Headquarters in Camp Salipada K. Pendatun in Parang, Maguindanao, worth Php40 million. This modern facility will respond to the increasing demands of the PRO BAR for space and facilities to better deliver on their mandate to serve and protect our people,” said Sinarimbo.
