In observance of the 2022 National Peace Consciousness Month with the theme, “Pagkakaisa at Paghilom: Isang Bansa para sa Kapayapaan”, the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF)-North Luzon under Regional Director Atty. Raihanah Sarah Macarimpas participated in the National Peace Caravan held on September 24, 2022, in Baguio City, Cordillera Autonomous Region (CAR).
The activity began with a motorcade, starting in Panagbenga Park and ending in the University of the Cordilleras.
This was participated by various organizations and institutions in Baguio City, such as Almaarif Educational Institution, Discover Islam Baguio, Mahad Luzon Al-Islamie Inc., Omar Ibn Al-Khattab Qur-an Learning Center, Baguio Muslim Association, and NCMF-North Luzon employees.
After the motorcade, the North Luzon Team proceeded to the Burnham Park picnic area, where they set up a booth for Peace Wall, Try a Muslim Wear, and Street Da’wah (Street Peace Awareness).
They invited participants to sign in the Peace Wall and to try the Muslim wear like hijab and totob.
For the Street Da’wah, they coordinated with Discover Islam Baguio led by Sheikh Muhamad Ali Ugarinan in delivering peace awareness lecture.
The NCMF would like to thank the Baguio City local government unit (LGU) headed by Mayor Benjamin Magalong, and the Burnham Park Office for their unending support to the activities of the Commission’s North Luzon Regional Office, as well as to various organizations and institutions that actively participated in this activity.
