COTABATO CITY — The Ministry of Basic, Higher and Technical Education-Technical Education and Skills Development (MBHTE-TESD) Operating Units across the Bangsamoro region has joined the celebration of the National Women’s Month being observed throughout the month of March.
Its theme this year revolved around “WE for Gender Equality and Inclusive Society and also with the sub-theme “Lead Like the Babaylans, Filipinas!”
In joining the annual celebration, the MBHTE–TESD reaffirmed the commitment to recognize the strength, leadership, and contributions of women in the Bangsamoro.
“Together, we honor the achievements of women and continue to support initiatives that uplift, inspire, and create opportunities for all,” the MBHTE, headed by Minister Mohagher M. Iqbal, said.
Lanao del Sur II – Division Festival of Talents 2026
The Lanao del Sur II Division, under the leadership of Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Anna Zenaida Unte, successfully conducted the Division Festival of Talents (DFOT) 2026 on February 24, 2026, during the blessed month of Ramadhan, at the Division Office in Malabang.
This activity is in line with the thrust of the Department of Education (DepEd) and the MBHTE to promote the holistic development of learners and provide platforms for them to showcase their talents and skills in various fields of arts, language, and innovation.
DFOT Focal Person ASDS Imelda Balt spearheaded the event with the support and collaboration of the Division Chiefs, Education Program Supervisors, ISAL Supervisors, program coordinators, and teachers across the division.
It aimed to provide learners with opportunities to demonstrate their talents and creativity, strengthen camaraderie and collaboration among schools, and identify outstanding participants who will represent the division at the regional level.
The competition categories included the following:

• Literary Cup
• Qur’an Reading
• Arabic Language
• Harf Touch
• Dokyumento
• Pop Quiz
• Desk Mates
The Division Festival of Talents serves as a venue for recognizing the diverse abilities of learners and reaffirming the division’s commitment to developing competent, confident, and well-rounded individuals. (/)
Established in 2018 by the Bangsamoro Organic Law (BOL) to implement the 2014 CAB, the Bangsamoro region, is made up of the provinces of Basilan, Lanao del Sur, Maguindanao del Norte, Maguindanao del Sur, and Tawi-Tawi, the cities of Cotabato, Lamitan, and Marawi, as well as the Special Geographic Area’s (SGA) 63 barangays or villages — now eight new municipalities — that voted “Yes” in a plebiscite in February 2019 to be under the BARMM jurisdiction.
According to the Philippine Atlas, BARMM has 4,404,288 people. It has 116 municipalities: Basilan, 11 municipalities; Lanao del Sur, 39; undivided Maguindanao, 36; Sulu, 19; and Tawi-Tawi, 11. Its component cities are Cotabato (the regional center and capital) in Maguindanao; Lamitan in Basilan; and Marawi in Lanao del Sur. (✓)
