COTABATO CITY (SDN) — The Bangsamoro Ministry of Basic, Higher and Technical Education (MBHTE) has distributed six service cars to the region’s six vocational technical-vocational (tech-voc) training centers.

Headed by Education Minister Mohagher M. Iqbal (IQ), the MBHTE is one of the primary ministries of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).

The training centers are under the supervision of the education ministry’s Technical Education and Skills Development (TESD). Iqbal turned over the six cars on December 22, 2022, in a ceremonial handover held at the Cotabato City Manpower Development Center (CCMDC) to each of the training centers.

They are for Driving National Certificate (NC) II of TESD Technological Institutions at Cotabato City Manpower Development Center.

Funds for the six vehicles were sourced by the MBHTE from its Contingency Fund (CF). Administrators of the centers happily accepted the cars to be used in implementing Driving NC II and provide a chance for more trainees.

Driving NC II is one of the popular courses being taken by those who are into technical vocational (tech-voc) education.

The MBHTE said the technical training institutes (TTIs) that were provided service cars are:

  • Cotabato City Manpower Development Center in Cotabato City
  • Provincial Training Center Maguindanao
  • Provincial Training Center – Tawi-Tawi
  • Provincial Training Center – Basilan
  • Provincial Training Center – Sulu
  • Provincial/City Manpower Development Center in Lanao del Sur.
Also, a member of Parliament of the BARMM, Iqbal lead the turnover of the vehicles to the training centers. He was assisted by Bangsamoro TESD Director General Ruby Andong and the administrators of the centers from the Bangsamoro region.
