Adapsense Technologies Builds Sentinel’s Social Distancing Device Worth Php2,890

Media Release:

Adapsense Technologies, Inc., a promising Filipino tech startup, has recently been tapped by D-TEC Solutions, Inc. to develop and build the hardware for its product, the Sentinel.

Sentinel is a complete digital safe distancing solution for the workplace.  It is a wearable device that can be easily clipped or worn and sets off an alarm to remind users of their distance from others. More than that, it also sends data to a local and cloud database that creates a report on potential Covid-19 exposure and cases in the workforce.

D-TEC Solutions conceptualized Sentinel as a social distancing device that will help companies to be more efficient and effective in their Covid-19 prevention efforts within their organization.

Having the capability and expertise in research and development (R&D), prototyping and full product development, particularly in the fields of IoT (Internet of Things), AI (Artificial Intelligence) and Data Analytics, Adapsense Technologies, Inc., was able to rapidly design and successfully build the hardware for D-TEC Solutions. The said company has started accepting orders for the product at Php2,890 per unit.

Dr. Nestor Michael C. Tiglao, president and CEO of Adapsense, explained how the Sentinel is fueled by the seen benefits of Industry 4.0.

“I think it is important for companies, big or small, to see the value that IoT and other emerging technologies could bring into their business. Industry 4.0 is not called Industry 4.0 for nothing because it sure will become huge, even bigger than the computer and smart phone revolution. They say the future of IoT is limitless and that is true. We have seen in the past how many companies had suffered and some perished for failing to adopt, while the tech leaders and those that had embraced changes have succeeded in facing business hurdles through the power of technology,” he said.

“During this Covid-19 pandemic alone, research conducted by Vodafone has proven that 78% of IoT adopters have agreed that the technology has been very important in their business continuity. 87% have achieved their ROI (return on investment), 51% agreed that their operating costs went down 19% on the average, employee productivity has increased by 44% and customer experience up by 38%.

Add to that the wealth of data that can be generated through IoT. Data that is very essential and vital in strategic business decision making. We definitely should not get left behind because this is the way to go. That’s what the future will be. These technologies will definitely change the world and how we live,” Dr. Tiglao.

He highlighted that this is what Adapsense Technologies Inc. envisions and wants to offer to businesses globally and most especially for businesses here in the Philippines. (/)
