TAGUIG CITY (SDN) — Changing of business permits from Makati to Taguig.
The City Government of Taguig under the leadership of Mayor Maria Laarni “Lani” L. Cayetano has remined businesses in the 10 Enlisted Men’s Barrios (EMBO) that it’s about time they register under Taguig.
Or replace them with permits from the Taguig Business Permits and Licensing Office (TBPLO) is issuing.
This after the Supreme Court had already made a final decision that the 10 EMBO barangays or villages fall under the jurisdiction of Taguig.
Remember that there was a protracted legal battle between the two progressive Metro Manila cities, which Taguig won in what could be a decisive victory.
Owing to the High Tribunal’s decision, the Taguig local government unit (LGU) issued the reminder on Tuesday, November 14, to business owners in the EMBO villages, such as Comembo, Pembo, Cembo, East Rembo, West Rembo, South Cembo, Pitogo, Northside, Rizal, and Southside.
It can be recalled that EMBO candidates for the recently concluded Barangay and Sanggunian Kabataan Elections (BSKE) 2023 filed their Certificates of Candidacy (COC) for the first time on September 29 under Taguig. The Commission on Elections (Comelec) conducted the BSKE on October 30.
They can either register or renew their business permits with TBPLO.
Here’s what steps must follow for their EMBO businesses:
1. Present the following requirements to Taguig BPLO:
- Application Form
- Current Makati Business Permit
- Latest Official Receipt
- 2×2 Formal picture of the owner (Single proprietor) or logo (Corporation)
- Location Sketch
- 3R picture of the exterior of the establishment
2. Proceed to the cashier for payment of outstanding business taxes.
3. Present OR to TBPLO and wait for your Taguig business permit to be released.
EMBO business owners who have paid their business taxes for 2023 and wish to process the replacement of their Makati business permits should follow these steps:
1. Register your business with Taguig BPLO. For this, present the following documents:
- Application Form
- Current Makati Business Permit
- Latest Official Receipt
- 2×2 Formal picture of the owner (Single proprietor) or logo (Corporation)
- Location Sketch
- 3R picture of the exterior of the establishment
2. Wait for your Taguig business permit to be released.
Business owners, for either of the two processes specified above, may visit any of the two venues below, depending on their convenience:
