THE FARM, Koronadal City — It’s the turn of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST)-SOCCSKSARGEN to conduct their version of the Regional Science and Technology Week (RSTW).
DOST Secretary Fortunato de la Pena lays down innovation breakthroughs of the DOST.
RSTW is being held in the country’s 16 regions, the regional version of the National Science and Technology Week (NSTW), the DOST’s program to celebrate breakthroughs in technology and innovation.
It’s one of DOST’s ways in communicating science to the people, to show that science through research and development (R&D) produces technology and innovation products that impact people’s lives, the society and the nation.
DOST XII Regional Director Dr. Zenaida “Hadja Shayma” P. Hadji Raof Laidan steered the RSTW celebration and set a high bar for other regions to follow.
A top act to follow, indeed, epitomized by a surprised pyrotechnics display that lighted the night sky of the southern city of Koronadal, South Cotabato.
DOST Secretary Fortunato de la Pena, apparently, liked what he saw and experience.
“Happy,” he replied when SDN — Scitech and Digital News asked him for a reaction over the warm reception he received a la rockstar.
