(SDN) — The National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF)-North Luzon under Regional Director Attorney Bai Raihanah Sarah Macarimpas has brought its information drive to Baguio City, Cordillera Autonomous Region (CAR).
She led the series of activities that covered the NCMF’s annual Hajj Awareness Program (HAP), Covid-19 Vaccination Awareness Program, and the kickoff program in Observance of Women’s Month, a mainstay of the national government’s GAD initiative.
In a report by NCMF Spokesman Dr. Dimapuno Alonto Datu-Ramos, director of the Bureau of External Relations (NCMF-BER), he said the lineup of events was conducted on March 1, 2021, at Eurotel in the Pine City.
He said more the NCMF headed by Secretary Saidamen B. Pangarungan will be conducting the similar activities nationwide.

Datu-Ramos said Aleem Acmad Pundor discussed why performing the hajj, the Islamic pilgrimage, is important; Ustadhz Abulkhayer Maruhom spoke about how the religious obligation is being performed. On the other hand, NCMF staff Benjamin Abuat laid down the requirements that every pilgrim must accomplish for the processing of the hajj.
For the coronavirus awareness, NCMF-North Luzon Medical Officer Dr. Jalilah Lao-Ambor emphasized the vital need to get the vaccine even as she debunked misconceptions and lies about Covid-19 spread by unscrupulous persons through fake news on social media.
For GAD (gender and development, GAD Focal Person Sitti Divina Roxas explained the rational behind Women’s Month’s observance every year; Attorney Nor-Ainah Daragangan delivered a lecture on the salient points of the Magna Carta of Women Act and Violence against Women and their Children Act (VAWC), Republic Act 9262.
Ustadhz Mohammad Ali Ugaringan of Discover Islam discussed the rights of women in Islam. (/)
