(SDN) — True to its humanitarian character, organizations of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have reached out to Filipinos — Muslim and Christian — as they provided food donations for the holy month of Ramadan.

UAE Embassy Charge d’Affaires Shaikh Saoud Ali Al-Mualla oversaw the distribution of hundreds of food boxes and bags of rice to communities in Maharlika Village, Taguig City (Al-Iqwa Foundation and Blue Mosque), in Pasay City, Quezon City, and Bulacan.
Emirates humanitarian organizations such as the Zayed Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation and the Emirates Red Crescent in coordination with the UAE Aid provided the food donations that also included dates (khorma in Arabic). Each of the boxes contained cooking oil, coffee, milk, sardines, and paired with a bag of rice.
