(SDN) — It’s a happy day at the bank for an instant millionaire, the winner of Lotto 6/42’s Php 15.44 million jackpot.
The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) said the lucky punter matched 6/42’s winning combination — 23-02-31-20-06-28 — drawn on live on PTV 4 on Saturday, June 19, 2021.
PCSO Corporate Planning Department Manager Agnes Salgarino Ibera said the bettor bought the winning ticket at a lotto outlet in San Jose City, Nueva Ecija.
It should be noted that prizes exceeding Php10,001 and above are deducted a 20 percent tax based on the TRAIN Law, or the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion Act.
Winners of PCSO games must claim their winnings inside one year, after which failure to claim them forfeits the prizes, and goes back to the charity agency.
The PCSO has five major lotto games — Ultra Lotto 6/58, Grand Lotto 6/55, Super Lotto 6/48, Mega Lotto 6/45, and 6/42.
Aside from its popular lotto and other lotteries, the PCSO also operates Small Town Lottery (STL) in areas where it is allowed by law.
In a related news, the PCSO said the winner of Php55.075 million jackpot of 6/58 drawn on March 23, 2021 claimed his winnings on May 24.
The sole winner, a male messenger, guessed correctly the winning combination of 16-27-08-05-12-23. He bought the lucky ticket in Las Piñas, Metro Manila.
Buy his dream house, spend money wisely
He and another winner of the same draw shared equally the 6/58 jackpot, Php55.075 million each.
In Filipino, the new lotto instant millionaire said, his “plan is to buy his dream house and his money wisely to support the education” of his children.
“I also plan to establish a sari-sari store and a Grab car service. Before I already won five digits but I did not stop and continued betting on my favorite numbers.
“Thanks so much to God and PCSO as I got lucky with the jackpot. Since 1995 I was already betting on the lotto,” the new member of the unofficial PCSO Lotto Millionaires Club said.
Earlier, on May 5, the sole winner of 6/55’s Php298.77 million jackpot prize claimed his winnings at the PCSO drawn on March 27.
He bought his lucky ticket in Pagadian, Zamboanga City, that matched the winning numbers of 38-35-11-22-39-37. A former overseas Filipino worker (OFW), he told the PCSO he was in Pagadian City for a job assignment.
PCSO General Manager Royina M. Garma congratulated the winners of the lotto games as she lauded for their good intentions of helping others and sharing their winnings with the church, their siblings, and some of their poor countrymen.
“We hope that many more will become millionaire like you,” Garma said, while calling on Filipinos to call continue supporting the PCSO lotteries and games. (EKU/SDN) — (✓)
