(SDN) — MORE construction projects are coming to the areas of the Bangsamoro region.
Through the leadership of lawyer Naguib G. Sinarimbo, the Ministry of the Interior and Local Government (MILG) will make it happen.
It’s safe to say the new and well-funded buildings are being constructed — others already completed — in many parts of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).
Comprising the region are the provinces of Basilan, Lanao del Sur, Maguindanao, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi; the cities of Cotabato, Lamitan and Marawi as well as the 63 barangays or villages designated as Special Geographic Area (SGA) in North Cotabato.
Last month of November this year the MILG signed accords for more building construction and other infrastructures.

“We signed Memoranda of Agreements (MOA) with the following LGUs (local government units) for the implementation of our projects in support of local government units in the Bangsamoro,” Sinarimbo revealed.

The new projects are in:
1. Buluan, Maguindanao, for their Municipal Hall building.
2. Madalum, Lanao del Sur, for their Municipal Hall building.
3. Mangudadatu, Maguindanao, for their Municipal Hall building.
4. Bayang, Lanao del Sur, for Public Market.
5. Marantao, Lanao del Sur, for their Water System.
He emphasized the significance of the projects to the LGUs and their population.
“These projects will improve service delivery, address issue of safe drinking water, and spur economic development of the LGUs and stir them away from IRA (internal revenue allocation) dependency and help in the economic recovery from Covid 19,” said Sinarimbo, the spokesman of the parliamentary Bangsamoro government.
Observers said local Muslims are long hungry for these development projects which they did not see in various past administrations of regional governors of the abolished Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao (ARMM). (✓)
