(SDN) — The Ministry of the Interior and Local Government (MILG) headed by Minister Naguib G. Sinarimbo continued responding to the needs of Bangsamoro local government units (LGUs).

One of the line agencies of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), the MILG has been constructing various projects in region’s mainland and island municipalities and cities. The projects are what one may call the dividends of peace brought about by the 2014 Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro (CAB).
In the last few years of the BARMM’s existence created through the Bangsamoro Organic Law (the CAB’s implementation), Sinarimbo’s ministry has already finished municipal halls, police stations, barangay halls, public markets, with many other structures still being constructed, including integrated public terminals.
On February 2, the MILG minister, who is also the BARMM spokesman, led the inauguration of the completed Gang Barangay Hall in Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao. No doubt a proud moment for the MILG.
“We inaugurated today another completed Barangay Hall project of our Ministry located in Gang, Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao. The project now provides a permanent and more comfortable government center for the officials and constituents of this barangay,” said Sinarimbo.
“In addition, this project also provided employment to many in this village during this pandemic apart from contributing in the revival of the wood carving industry in this part of the homeland.”

“Wood carving” is a skill among the Moro tribes of Mindanao, with intricate designs — such as flowers, birds, geometric figures — that do not feature a human form for it is taboo in Islam, apparently to discourage idol worship.
He was not finish with the Gang inauguration.
The interior minister said he and his party then proceeded to Barangay Kalanganan Mother, Cotabato City (BARMM seat of government) where they had a dialogue with village officials and their constituents.

Sinarimbo said they “discussed issues and concerns as well as approved projects for their barangay.”
What came next was the inspection of the proposed site of the barangay hall and market in the pipeline. “We hope to quickly start with the implementation of these projects,” he assured.
The BARMM is composed of Basilan, Lanao del Sur, Maguindanao, Sulu and Tawi-Tawi provinces, the cities of Cotabato, Lamitan, and Marawi as well as 63 villages in North Cotabato designated as Special Geographic Area (SGA) in North Cotabato province. (EKU) – (✓)
