(SDN) —The Bangsamoro Government’s Ministry of the Interior and Local Government (MILG) has extended a hand of friendship to Vigan, Ilocos Sur.
On March 17, 2022 the ministry, one of the line agencies of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), organized a visit to the Ilocandia province in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

Headed by Interior Minister Naguib G. Sinarimbo, the MILG through it’s Localizing e-Governance for Accelerated Provision of Services-Technical Working Group (LeAPS-TWG), organized what it called a “learning visit” aimed at increasing the understanding and awareness of the ministry’s core team on the processes involved in Development through Local Indicators and Vulnerability Exposure (DevLIVE+) Database and its implementation and increase the buy-in of and support in rolling out of the DevLIVE+ in the Bangsamoro local government units.
DevLIVE+ is a system and a tool that is used to collect, organize, visualize and manage baseline data and information on the household, building structures and production areas for monitoring access to and delivery of basic services, assessing vulnerabilities and exposures to hazards and risks, and creating development pathways toward sustainable and progressive communities.
The BARMM is comprised of the provinces of Basilan, Lanao del Sur, Maguindanao, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi, and the cities of Cotabato, Lamitan, and Marawi, as well as the Special Geographic Area (SGA) comprised of 63 barangays or villages in North Cotabato that opted to be under the BARMM jurisdiction. North Cotabato is not part of the Bangsamoro region.
It was established as a new political entity (NPE) by the Bangsamoro Organic Law (BOL) as part of the implementation of the 2014 Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro (CAB).
The CAB was born out of a 17-year peace process between the Philippine government and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF), which has now transformed into a non-violent organization after the CAB’s signing on March 27, 2014. (✓)
