COTABATO CITY (SDN) — The Ministry of the Interior and Local Government (MILG) has broken ground for two construction projects in Northern Kabuntalan, Maguindanao.
MILG Minister Naguib G. Sinarimbo, also the spokesperson of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), he and Bangsamoro Senior Minister Sammy Al Mansoor traveled to the municipality located along the Pulangi River (Rio Grande de Mindanao) for the twin events.
“In between our very busy schedules today, March 24, 2022, the Senior Minister Sammy Al Mansoor and myself managed to groundbreak two important projects for Northern Kabuntalan, Maguindanao,” he said.
Sinarimbo said the first groundbreaking was for a Municipal Police Station of the Philippine National Police (PNP). He added the PNP Station will be built inside the Municipal Government Center of the local government unit (LGU).

He said they then broke ground for a planned Public Market for Northern Kabuntalan.
“Located near the Municipal Government Center, this market will provide the venue for exchange of goods in this municipality and give livelihood to potential entrepreneurs while allowing the LGU to generate revenue,” the MILG chief pointed out.
Sinarimbo cited Northern Kabuntalan Mayor Ramil Dilangalen and the people of the municipality.

Sinarimbo’s MILG is implementing various construction projects of the BARMM on the directive of Chief Minister Al-Hajj Murad Ebrahim, as the regional government distributes what is called the “dividends of peace.”
Included in the construction projects are buildings for Municipal Halls, Public Markets, Police Stations, Public Terminals, and Tourism Centers.
Aside from the buildings the MILG is also providing Desalination Facilities for water-starved areas, particularly in the BARMM’s island provinces in Western Mindanao (Region IX), such as Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi, and Water Systems in Lanao del Sur, so far.
The BARMM is composed of the provinces of Basilan, Lanao del Sur, Maguindanao, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi, and the cities of Cotabato, Lamitan, and Marawi, as well as the Special Geographic Area (SGA) comprised of 63 barangays or villages in North Cotabato that opted to be under the BARMM jurisdiction.
BARMM was established as a new political entity (NPE) by the Bangsamoro Organic Law (BOL) to implement the 2014 Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro (CAB). — EKU (✓)
