(SDN) — Fire victims in Barangay (Village) Poblacion 4 in Cotabato City are thankful to the Ministry of the Interior and Local Government (MILG) for its assistance.

The MILG under Interior Minister Naguib G. Sinarimbo provided the bags of relief assistance through its Bangsamoro Rapid Emergency Action on Disaster Incidence (READi). In carrying out the aid to the villagers of Poblacion 4, the Philippine Red Cross (PRC)-Maguindanao Chapter assisted in the distribution of the bags of assistance.

An MILG READi staff said the Commission on Audit (COA) of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) was also present during the humanitarian activity.

It can be recalled that a part of Poblacion 4 was razed by a fire on March 28, 2022, with affected residents losing their houses.

A look at what remains of the blaze.

Two days after on March 30, the MILG READi came with its relief assistance consisting of 10 kilos of rice, cans of sardine, coffee packs, Jerrycan, and mats to the 35 residents the fire victimized.

While expressing gratitude to PRC and MILG, the residents were helpful some Good Samaritans, or other government agencies would be able to help them build their houses.
