(SDN) — In whatever circumstances, the humanitarian and rescue arm of the Ministry of the Interior and Local Government (MILG) continues its work of helping those who need assistance.

It is a promise and commitment that have been demonstrated and continues to be seen every time a community, its residents are in dire situation. It’s the reason for being of the Bangsamoro Rapid Emergency Action on Disaster Incidence or READi, which operates under the MILG headed by Minister Naguib G. Sinarimbo.

On May 6, a Friday, MILG’s READi responders went Barangay Tamontaka 5, Cotabato City (the seat of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), together with the Philippine Read Cross (PRC) to distribute relief assistance packages.

Over 500 residents affected by flooding in the village received assistance from the MILG READi and PRC responders.

Bangsamoro READi saw Barangay Tamontaka 5 to be almost completely submerged by water because of continuous continuous rain over the week.
One village official told the MILG humanitarian and rescue agency the village has been under water for over a month.
The village officials expressed thanks to Bangsamoro READi for its immediate response to their call for help.
Sinarimbo, also the BARMM spokesman, assured the Bangsamoro constituents that MILG will continue to discharge mandate, duties, and responsibilities “whatever the circumstances.” — EKU (/)
