COTABATO CITY — The Ministry of Basic, Higher and Technical Education (MBHTE), along with other ministries and agencies of the Bangsamoro government, fully supports the National Nutrition Council (NNC) in this year’s celebration of Nutrition Month.

This year’s theme of the celebration revolves around “New normal na nutrisyon, sama-samang gawan ng solusyon” (New normal nutrition collaborate in finding solution).

Minister Mohagher M. Iqbal, head of the MBHTE, one of the ministries of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), expressed his ministry’s full support to the month-long celebration through a video.

“(The) Education Ministry supports policies that will improve our children’s nutrition, making them healthier and ready for the Academic Year 2022 to 2023.”

To improve nutrition in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (BAR) and fight all forms of malnutrition are two of the collective efforts the Bangsamoro ministries they are working for.

“As the MBHTE works to advance the educational goals of the BARMM, let us remind ourselves of the benefits of prioritizing our physical, mental, and social well-being,” said Iqbal.

He also added that education and health fortify one another, wherein advancing children’s health and nutrition brings substantial benefits to their education.

Making sure all children in every family are well-nourished, the MBHTE, through its Health and Nutrition Unit (HNU), has been conducting and implementing programs and activities to deliver basic health services to every learner.

The HNU activities include School-Based Feeding Program, Wash in Schools, Gulayan sa Paaralan (Vegetable Gradening in School), Deworming, among others. (/)
