BONGAO, Tawi-Tawi — Education Minister Mohagher Iqbal formally installed on Monday, September 5, Dr. Lermalyn Jalas-Tidal as the new officer-in-charge (OIC)-Schools Division Superintendent (SDS) of Tawi-Tawi Schools Division.
Held at the Department of Education (DepEd) Gymnasium in Bongao, Tawi-Tawi, OIC-SDS Jalas-Tidal laid her initial plans and programs that will guide and direct her division for a better educational system.

The newly installed education official emphasized that improving the Tawi-Tawi Schools Division will be achieved if everyone does his/her part in complying with the mandates promptly and working efficiently, especially in aligning with the principle of Moral Governance.
Iqbal, head of the Bangsamoro Ministry of Basic, Higher and Technical Education (MBHTE), expressed his message of hope and support for Jalal-Tidal’s plans and programs. Further, he encouraged everyone to advocate and support the ministry’s learning recovery plan which is the 5Bs, which means “Bawat Bata sa Bangsamoro Bumabasa at Bumibilang” (Every Child in the Bangsamoro is Reading and Counting).
“I am confident that Dr. Jalal-Tidal will be our dependable partner in ensuring the honest and effective delivery of education services in Tawi-Tawi, thus reducing the Bangsamoro education sector’s disparities,” said Iqbal.

Iqbal reiterated that regardless of one’s position in government, from the head of the office to the field officers, “our constituents will subject us to higher ethical standards and expect us to exemplify transparency and accountability.”
“Moreover, we should understand that the higher the position in government, the greater the expectations for excellent management and good governance. And school division superintendents are no exception,” he added.
Tawi-Tawi Provincial Governor Yshmael Sali, together with the province’s local leaders, head of different line agencies, officials from the men in uniform, division personnel, district and school heads, and teachers attended the ceremony and voiced their support. (/)
