It’s the 23rd annual edition of the prizes which made an absence since 2019, obviously because of the global coronavirus pandemic that broke out in December that year.

The 2022 prize recipients will be announced by the Honorable Anthony N. Albanese Minister of Parliament (MP), Prime Minister of Australia, and the Honorable Ed Husic, MP, Minister for Industry and Science (MOIS), at a presentation dinner on Monday, November 21, 2022.

Highly coveted Prizes, they are Australia’s most prestigious awards for outstanding achievements in scientific research, research-based innovation and excellence in science teaching.

The Prizes are presented to Australian citizens and permanent residents who have made a significant contribution to the advancement of science, translated scientific knowledge into a commercial product of economic, social or environmental benefit, or have demonstrated excellence in science teaching.
