COTABATO CITY — On November 19, 2022, the Bangsamoro government distributed food packs and shelter tool kits to victims of Typhoon Paeng in the municipality of Upi, Maguindanao.
This was reported by the Ministry of the Interior and Local Government’s (MILG) humanitarian and disaster response arm, the Rapid Emergency Action for Disaster Incidence (MILG-READi).
Interior Minister Naguib G. Sinarimbo heads the MILG, and is also the spokesman of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).
Sinarimbo has taken the initiative for the MILG, in collaboration with Office of Civil Defense (BARMM-OCD) in responding to the impact of “Paeng” which slashed through many areas of the country on October 26 to 30, leaving a swath of destruction and a trail of fatalities. Perhaps, none more worst than in the Maguindanao’s municipalities of Datu Odin Sinsuat, Datu Blah Sinsuat, and Upi.
Here’s some of the pictorial records, through MILG-READi of the distribution of assistance:

MILG-READi distributed the food packs and shelter tool kits for then residents of Upi who are still staying in evacuation center.
Every family, Sinarimbo said, received 10 kilos of rice, canned goods, coffee, one liter of water, dried fish, flashlight, whistle, and materials for making temporary shelter.
One of the recipients of the assistance is a teacher, Mustapha Guiaman, 43, of Nuro, Upi. With emotions he can’t control, he thanked the BARMM leadership of Chief Minister Al-Hajj Murad Ebrahim for what the teacher described as “continuing” assistance.
“Thank you so much for the help, Datu, for your assistance for us,” Guiaman said.
With residents in the affected towns still trying to pick their shattered lives, the BARMM leadership assured them of continuing attention. (✓)
