(SDN) — The Taguig Mobile Diagnostics Van is off to a rousing start as over 500 residents of Lower Bicutan welcomed its rollout out on Wednesday, September 6.
And soon more of the residents of the 28 barangays of the city, plus the newly acquired — by virtue of a Supreme Court decision — 10 EMBO barangays from Makati would benefit from the services of the Mobile Diagnostics Van.
The chief executive of the city, Mayor Maria Laarni “Lani” L. Cayetano led the launch and rollout of the “testing van” in the Lakeshore, Lower Bicutan. She was amid a sea of residents who apparently were all eager and curious and anticipatory of what the Mobile Diagnostics Van could do for them.

A press statement from the Public Information Office (PIO) of Taguig City headed by Ms. Marican Brizuela described the van “as a crucial addition to the Taguig Love Caravan initiative which will now provide free diagnostic testing in barangays for all Taguigeños”.
Many services are on offer through the diagnostic van
The diagnostics van aims to ensure that citizens who cannot go to nearby health centers or hospitals for diagnostics testing will be able to avail themselves of the following additional services for free when the Taguig Love Caravan visits their barangay: Chest X-ray, Laboratory tests (complete blood count with platelet count, random blood sugar, blood typing, urinalysis), ECG, and Ultrasound.
“Sa ilalim ng Caring City, malasakit, pagkalinga, pamahalaang siyang lumalapit sa ating mga kababayan at naghahatid ng serbisyong abot-kamay po ninyo,” said Mayor Lani addressing the more than 500 residents of Barangay Lower Bicutan who availed of the free health services.
(Translation: Under the Caring City, compassion, caring, government that approaches our t0wnmates and brings services to them.)
The Taguig Love Caravan is a pioneer health program in Taguig which makes rounds in different barangays three times a week. It provides these services for free to residents: Free checkup, Free medicines, Free laboratory and diagnostic services, Free dental services, and Free food preparation/nutrition demonstration.

For the month of September, the Mobile Diagnostics Van has visited Lower Bicutan (launch site), Barangays Napindan (September 7) and Calzada (September 8).
The Taguig local government unit’s (LGU) Medical Assistance Office is managing and handling the Taguig Love Caravan.
To avail oneself of the services being offered by the Mobile Diagnostic Van, you have to get a Doctor’s Assessment from the Taguig Love Caravan.
Another important detail is that there are only a limited number of persons that may avail themselves of the free diagnostics van tests such as X-Ray, Laboratory (RBS, CBC, Urinalysis, Platelet Count and Blood-Typing), ECG, and Ultrasound.
On the other hand, for the Medical and Dental Services, a set of rules has also been laid out to avoid confusion.
- For 18 years old and above — must be vaccinated and brings vaccination card
- Minor — must be accompanied by parents or guardians, also bring vaccination card
Registration starts at 7 a.m. while the conduct of the medical, dental, giving of hearing aid, diagnostic services, and nutrition seminar will start at 8 a.m. And cut-off is at 12 noon time.
Taguig residents must watch out for the Taguig Love Caravan’s schedule as the LGU invites Taguigueños to avail themselves of the free medical, dental, and nutrition-related services. (✓)
