PASAY CITY, 20th September 2023 (SDN) — Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Secretary Ivan John E. Uy is this year’s top awardee as “Leader of the Year” of the Philippine Block Awards (PBA) organized by the Blockchain Council of the Philippines (BCP).
BCP President Dr. Donald Lim handed the DICT top honcho’s award in the evening’s ceremony of the Philippine Blockchain Week (PBW) 2023 being held from September 19-21 at the Marriott Hotel Grand Ballroom, Newport Resorts World, Pasay City, Metro Manila.
The PBA is a highlight of the PBW, its second iteration organized by the BCP. International tech gurus and leaders. Foreign and Filipino blockchain leaders’ presence makes the PBW a star-studded affair.
A second “Leader of the Year” awardee is Renz Carlo Chong, co-founder and CEO of BreederDAO, a project running on blockchain focusing on manufacturing high-quality game assets delivering the best value to players.
Eight other proponents and leaders in the Philippines’ adoption of blockchain also received their respective award, just as last year’s, copping off the evening’s proceedings.
Part of the awarding ceremony was the induction of new members of the blockchain council administered by the DICT secretary.

Blockchain and crypto news website BitPinas also received an award.
