TAGUIG CITY — The City Government of Taguig kicked off its distribution of school uniforms on Monday, November 6, in different schools in the City.
Mayor Maria Laarni “Lani” L. Cayetano led the distribution in Bagumbayan National High School (BNHS).
“Magmula nung kinder kayo, hanggang sa mag elementarya kayo, nag-K-to-12 na at lahat hanggang sa grumaduate kayo ng senior high school, every step of the way, ramdam ninyo ang pagmamahal ng local government, ramdam ninyo ang TLC ng Taguig,” said Mayor Lani Cayetano during the distribution in Bagumbayan National High School.
Translation: Starting with your Kinder, up to Elementary, you proceeded to K-to-12 until you graduated in Senior High School, every step of way you felt the love of the local government, you felt the TLC of Taguig. TLC means Transformative, Loving, and Caring, the city’s maxim.
The distribution of free school uniforms brought immense joy to the students who were quick to express their gratitude, highlighting how these uniforms significantly contribute to their daily necessities.
“Excited na po akong gamitin itong bagong uniform namin dahil maganda po talaga siya,” said Angeli Nicole Cañaveral, a Grade 8 student from Tibagan High School (THS) in Barangay East Rembo, Taguig.
Translation: I am already excited to wear this new uniform because it’s really beautiful.

For her part, Grade 11 student Hannah Moises from BNHS highlighted that their parents will not have to worry about buying them uniforms for this school year.
“Mas napaganda pa ngayon dahil may mga taong hirap talaga financially. Dito sa Taguig maaasahan nating libre lahat mga gamit, pati uniform at sapatos. Lahat nabibigyan ng pagkakataon na makapag-aral nang maayos at komportable,” Moises added.
Translation: It came in just in time because there are people who truly having difficulties. In Taguig we can expect it is free, including uniforms and shoes. Everybody is given the opportunity to study comfortably.
The distribution will continue in the next days in other public schools in Taguig until all 200,000 students receive their uniforms.
Improving its service, Taguig has arranged for dedicated sizers for each school. They will be present during the distribution to promptly address sizing discrepancies and cater to those who haven’t had their measurements taken. Uniforms and shoes that do not fit will be replaced.
