PEZA 28th Investors’ Night Honors Registered Business Enterprises as Champions for Inclusive, Sustainable Ecozone Development

PASAY CITY, November 21, 2023 – Now in its 28th year, the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) will celebrate the grand and annual tradition of honoring the remarkable achievements and contributions of its ecozone developer-operators and locator enterprises at the PEZA 28th Investors’ Night on Wednesday, November 22, in the city’s World Trade Center (WTC), Metro Manila.

PEZA Director General Tereso O. Panga proudly said, “As we look forward to this resplendent celebration, we are once again recognizing the relentless dedication and steadfast commitment of our registered business enterprises (RBEs) in pursuit of generating more investments, exports, and creating more jobs for our fellowmen.”

Among the high officials and principals to grace the Investors’ Night are Presidential Adviser on Investment and Economic Affairs Secretary Frederick Go, Senate President Pro Tempore Loren Legarda, PEZA Board Chairman and Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary Alfredo Pascual, and Maharlika Investment Corporation President and CEO Rafael Jose D. Consing, Jr.

Further, some of the prominent industry association leaders to attend the annual event are Semiconductor and Electronics Industries in the Philippines Foundation, Inc. (SEIPI) President Dr. Danilo Lachica, IT and Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP) President Jack Madrid, Philippine Ecozone Association (PHILEA) President Francisco Zaldarriaga, Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) Philippines Executive Director Kazuo Nakamura, and Confederation of Wearables Exporters of the Philippines (CONWEP) Associate Director Rosette Carillo.

This year, PEZA will hold its annual Investors’ Night in Pasay City’s World Trade Center, a tradition halted in 2020 by the pandemic.

PEZA Award Categories

For this year’s Investors’ Night, PEZA takes pride in awarding 33 export-oriented companies for their exemplary efforts and performances under the following categories: Outstanding Exporter, Outstanding Employer, Outstanding Community Projects, Outstanding Environmental Performance, Hall of Fame Award, and the Billionaires’ Award.

The Outstanding Exporter Award is given to locators that have accomplished outstanding performance in exports while the Outstanding Employer Award is awarded to companies that generated the most number of jobs, held high regard for the welfare of its workers, and maintained harmony between labor and management.

The Outstanding Community Project Award is granted to locators or developers that have strengthened their relationship with the community through meaningful corporate social responsibility (CSR) projects such as scholarship programs, free medical and dental services, tree planting, gift giving, or similar pro-community projects.

Further, locators that institutionalized their environmental management system, complied with environmental regulations and fostered partnerships between the government and the industry in caring for the environment while simultaneously sustaining economic growth will be awarded the Outstanding Environmental Performers Award.

Meanwhile, the Hall of Fame Award is awarded to three-time winners of the Outstanding Exporter, Outstanding Employer, Outstanding Community Project, and Outstanding Environmental Performer Awards.

Lastly, the Billionaires Award is awarded to a company that exports at least US$2.5 billion in any given year. (✓)

For those not familiar with the venue, it is located at the corner of Roxas Boulevard and Buendia Avenue. If you are traveling from the South via Macapagal Avenue going North, the WTC is on the right at the corner with Buendia Avenue.
