WORLD TRADE CENTER, Pasay City (SDN) — Honor and prestige for a job well done!

Headed by Director General Tereso O. Panga, the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) bestowed on November 22 here at the World Trade Center (WTC) what is due to 28 investors and locators of the country’s various special economic zones.
PEZA personnel told SDN — Scitech & Digital News that invited to the event was around 4,000 people.
The government agency, serving as magnet for investments in many locations across the country, proved true to its “grand and annual tradition of honoring the remarkable achievements and contributions of its economic zone developer-operators and locator enterprises” during PEZA’s 28th Anniversary and Investors’ Night.
At start of the celebratory affair, President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. extended his warmest greetings to PEZA through a video message, as he paid tribute to the agency’s performance.
“For almost three decades, the PEZA has played a pivotal role in the growth and development of our economy. Its commitment to promoting excellence in our economic zones has contributed significantly to the advancement of our industries and the lives of the Filipino people.”
The President encouraged PEZA to reaffirm its mission of fostering an environment that paves the way for businesses to flourish.
“With the PEZA leading the way, I am certain that we can make the Philippines a top destination for new and existing businesses and investments. Together, let us strive for progress, innovation, and sustainability as we build a better and brighter future for our economy and country.”
Panga cited the importance of the event during which outstanding performers are being bestowed awards. “We are once again recognizing the relentless dedication and steadfast commitment of our registered business enterprises (RBEs) in pursuit of generating more investments, exports, and creating more jobs for our fellowmen.”
This year’s theme revolved around “Eco-zoning the country towards inclusive and sustainable development”, saying it showcased the economic zones’ continued success and resilience throughout the years.
Thousands of dignitaries and other attendees, including captains of industries, business figures, diplomats, professionals, and PEZA officials and personnel, among others, filled to the brim the WTC venue along Roxas Boulevard and Buendia Avenue, Pasay City, Metro Manila.
The awards included, among others, the Hall of Fame Award goes to three-time winners, while the Billionaires’ Award is bestowed on a company able to export products worth at least US$2.5 billion.
