Bangsamoro Gov’t through MBHTE Conducts Qur’an Reading Exhibition at SKCC

COTABATO CITY — In alignment with the Ministry of Basic, Higher and Technical Education’s (MBHTE) commitment to fostering knowledge and understanding, its Directorate General for Madaris Education (DGME) conducted a Qur’an Reading Exhibition at Shariff Kabunsuan Cultural Complex (SKCC) located in the Bangsamoro Government Center (BGC) compound.

The exhibition transcends the boundaries of mere observation; it is a deliberate effort to deepen the collective comprehension of the Qur’an. Envisioned as a catalyst for dialogue and cultural exchange, it serves as a beacon for shared learning experiences, encouraging participants and attendees to explore the profound impact of the Qur’an in everyone’s daily lives.

Witnessing the event were Maguindanao del Norte Governor Abdulraof Macacua, newly designated Bangsamoro Mufti Shayk Abdulrauf Guialani, MBHTE Minister Mohagher M. Iqbal, Shuunul Qur’an Shaykh Mas-oud Lantong, Atty. Nes Lidasan representing Cotabato City Mayor Bruce Matabalao, among others.

MBHTE continues distribution of school supplies

Meanwhile, the Ministry, through its Property and Supply Section, distributed on December 19, supplies in Biarong Elementary School (BES), South Upi Maguindanao.

Included in the supplies are four sets of teachers’ kits, 119 sets of learners’ kits, 119 pairs of slippers, 119 packs of clothes, 1 box of McDonalds toys, 20 sets of kiddie books, 119 cups of milo, 15 sets of charts, 15 sets of flashcards, and four sets of manipulative toys.

The Bangsamoro region, established in 2018 by the Bangsamoro Organic Law (BOL) to implement the 2014 Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro (CAB), is made up of the provinces of Basilan, Lanao del Sur, Maguindanao del Sur, Maguindanao del Norte, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi, the cities of Cotabato, Lamitan, and Marawi, as well as the Special Geographic Area’s (SGA) 63 barangays or villages that voted “Yes” in a plebiscite in February 2019 to be under the BARMM jurisdiction.

According to the Philippine Atlas BARMM has 4,404,288 people. It has 116 municipalities: Basilan, 11 municipalities; Lanao del Sur, 39; undivided Maguindanao, 36; Sulu, 19; and Tawi-Tawi, 11. Its component cities are Cotabato (the regional center and capital) in Maguindanao; Lamitan in Basilan; and Marawi in Lanao del Sur. (✓)
