(SDN) — If giving back is your thing, then none is doing it better in the country’s smartphone ecosystem than Honor Philippines!
In fact, Honor Philippines with Vice President for Marketing Stephen Cheng at the driver’s seat and ably assisted by Pao Oga, the amiable public relations (PR) manager of the Chinese tech company, and its other officers, people may see that it is also in a sense a “philanthropic” entity for the way it gives away 10’s of thousands of cash prizes, smartphones, ear buds, goodies, and others from its unlimited bags of goodwill.

It was no different on Friday, August 6, when the smartphone company — with its upward trajectory on a roll among the competition — treated over 200 journalists and bloggers to hours of fun, food, games, entertainment, and prizes galore at Studio 300 in Makati City, Metro Manila.
Honor Philippines. it seems, has a boundless supply of goodwill for its fans and users as it continued to unveil innovation-laden smartphones after smartphones that quickly become the craze of many Filipinos, especially the youth. Not, of course, to leave behind the not-so young-at-heart who want a durable, user-friendly, and full-of-features device in their hand.

Attendees at the event gamely competed in a light-hearted manner on Bowling, Billiard, and Football (penalty shot).
Honor Philippines awarded the champion with Php20,000; second place, Php12,000; and third place, Php8,000. There were two ties for the highest aggregate scores from the three events, so the organizers decided not to do a tie-break game, just awarded the Php20,000 and Php12,000 prizes to the two highest scores, divided equally.
It went like this: Each player had two throws in Bowling with possible 50 points in each throw if the target — Honor smartphone — is hit; for Billiard, three shots also on an Honor smartphone; as well as in Soccer for two penalty kicks — 20 points each successful kick.

Aside from the games there was also entertainment by a three-person band, not to forget unlimited food, drinks, and fun.
On August 28, VP Cheng and PR Manager Pao brought 50 or so reporters and bloggers on an overnight junket to Subic, Zambales, for the launch of the company’s Honor 200 series phone, another of the Chinese company’s innovative creation.
Back at Studio 300, Honor Philippines Brand Manager Joepy Jean Liboon formally introduced Honor X6b budget phone to Filipinos.
She also said the company has “strengthened our ties with Shopee”.
And this is evidenced by the exclusive sale of the Honor X6b on the digital market’s 9.9 Mega Sale, which will go for only Php5,3999. But at exactly 12 a.m., lucky buyers will get it for just one peso during the “Piso” sale episode.
Meanwhile, of all the smartphone companies operating and selling in the Philippines, only Honor has shown and continuously demonstrated its exemplary character in as much as dealing with Filipinos, its customers, and its media partners.
“Media partner” is a hollow term and does not mean a thing, but exploitation of the news media and blogging community if uttered by other smartphone companies and some public relations (PR) agencies.
But not Honor Philippines, which has embodied and practiced the term “media partners” and embraced to the hilt. I know because I have seen and felt it personally as I have been on many of the company’s events.
Last December, Honor Philippines’ Media Thanksgiving Event in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City, Metro Manila, it was the usual mountains of prices, two Php50,000 cash prizes, hosts of Php10,000 cash prizes, several smartphones, laptops, and many others that flooded the venue.
Has any of the competing mobile companies done even a fraction of it? Safe to say, none!
In a related development, Erin Tagudin, head of Corporate Affairs at Shopee, revealed Honor smartphones’ rising performance on the digital marketplace, rising on a steep curve from 2023 to 2024.
She said Honor phones are “growing at a faster rate vs. other Mobile brands in Shopee Mall” at +2.7x year-on-year (YoY) growth trajectory. — EKU) (/)
