MANILA, October 22, 2024 – If you’ve not been living under a rock for the longest time and, like everybody else, is tuned in to social media, then you’ll see and know online shoppers’ bad experiences with e-commerce platforms. A litany of them!

Especially with those two e-commerce platforms that Filipinos have obviously been addicted to, ordering products every day. Then, when the products they ordered is delivered, it is either fake, or not the product they paid for, or is defective and unusable. Money thrown away because refund or replacement is like shooting for the moon.

In fairness, not all the products delivered are defective, or changed. But many have the bad experience. So, sometimes, you’ll wonder, you’ll ask yourself, why are these digital markets not doing enough to ensure their customers are not gypped of their hard-earned money? Why defective products are allowed in their platforms, why are these defective products are being sent to buyers?

So, how you’d wish a new e-commerce platform would come in and change the culture of bad service, bad products, and unacceptable after-sales service into a refreshing quality of service and better and genuine products. Like a welcome breeze off the ocean of the e-commerce world.

And that it should happen, not in the future, but today as in now to free Filipino consumers from bad service, bad products, and bad post-sales service in the realm of the e-commerce world.

If seems that the wish has been granted, in the form of Shoppedia, meaning “Encyclopedia of Shopping”, which is to be officially launched and opened for business in the coming few days, or weeks at most.

On Monday, October 21, in preparation for its launch, Shoppedia, the new kid in e-commerce town, Filipino owned and founded, entered into a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with logistics company J&T Express to bring online shopping to a new level of trust, honesty, and unfailing delivery.

That is the kind of culture in e-commerce that Neil G. La-as, CEO and founder of Shoppedia, wants to inject in online shopping, a kind of experience that won’t leave customers feeling swindled of their money. But a feeling of satisfaction, of feeling they got their money’s worth, every penny of it.
