ARCA SOUTH, Taguig City (SDN) — Team Lani Cayetano (TLC) on Friday, March 28, 2025, fired their opening salvo in Barangay Hagonoy as the campaign period for the local elections started normally as a busy day for candidates.

Later in the evening the re-electionist Mayor Maria Laarni “Lani-” L. Cayetano and her lineup staged their formal proclamation rally on an open field here at ARCA South, Barangay Western Bicutan, attended by thousands of Taguig residents.

Attendees eager to hear TLC’s platforms, priority concerns and issues to address if re-elected or elected, filled to the brim the front, right, and left side of the giant stage. Singers entertained the crowds while they awaited the arrival of Cayetano’s lineup comprised of two congressmen, a party-list and council men for the city’s two districts.

The Taguig public information office (PIO) told reporters covering Southern Metro Manila in a message beforehand the Proclamation Rally was to start at 4 p.m. and the program proper — TLC’s arrival — at 6 p.m.

However, the program proper started around 7 p.m. as the entertainers for the well-attended event had the thousands of attendees well-entertained.

Later in a post on her social media page, the incumbent mayor announced the proclamation rally.

“My beloved Taguigenos, last night officially presented to you the goal of our Team TLC to again serve you. Thank you so much for your warm support and acceptance,” she says in the Filipino language.

“Kasama kong humarap sa inyo ang mga mapagkakatiwalaan, subok nasa sa serbiyo publiko, at mga tunay na partners ng inyong Ate Lani Cayetano.” (I came before you with the trusted and experienced in public service and true partners of you Sister Lani Cayetano.)

With the TLC Team, she assured that she is at peace in her mind and heart their partnership and continue their objective for Taguig to become a truly Transformative, Lively, and Caring City.

Senator Allan Peter Cayetano was also present at the rally, as he spoke before the thousands of attendees.

A prelude to the proclamation rally of TLC was their first salve of campaign held at Barangay Hagonoy Sports Complex during which the whole lineup reaffirmed their mission to continue “Serbisyong TLC” — Transformation, Lively, and Caring for every resident of the city.

During the proclamation rally, Mayor Cayetano presented Team TLC’s congressional bets — Congressman Ricardo S. “Ading” Cruz, Jr. for the First District and Barangay Fort Bonifacio head Jorge Bocobo for the Second District.

The First and Second Districts running as councilors in the mid-term elections on May 12 were also present, one of them a Muslim — Gen Pau-Tin of Barangay Maharlika Village.

Mayor Cayetano present Cruz as “father”, strength and guardian as she equally called on her constituents to support both House of Representatives aspirants, as well as reelectionist Vice Mayor Arvin Alit, the “father” of the Municipal Council, and, of course, the whole lineup of 24 council bets for the two districts.

She did not forget either to endorse the Lunas Party-list which she presented as one that cares for the Filipino family.

The mayor appealed to Taguig voters for prayers, earnest support and most especially for them to be one in the TLC’s objectives for the city. (/)
