COTABATO CITY — The Ministry of Basic,Higher and Technical Education held a turnover ceremony for the newly constructed covered court with a stage last May 29,2025, at Kinebeka Elementary School, Kenebeke, Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao.
Funded under TDIF 2023 and made possible through the support from Member of the Parliament Suharto M. Ambolodto, this newly built infrastructure has a total amount of Php 3,974,178.92.
This facility will serve as a valuable venue for school and community activities, fostering a more conducive environment for learning.
Meanwhile, in another support for education, the MBHTE successfully distributed learning materials under the project “Improve Quality Education in the Bangsamoro Land” or Project IQBAL for the month of May 2025 at the School Division Office of Marawi City.
One of the 15 primary ministries of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), the MBHTE is headed by Education Minister Mohagher M. Iqbal, who is also a Member of the Parliament (MP).
This ongoing effort reflects MBHTE’s commitment to strengthening education in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region by providing essential learning resources and fostering a quality and inclusive learning for all.

The Bangsamoro region, established in 2018 by the Bangsamoro Organic Law (BOL) to implement the 2014 Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro (CAB), is made up of the provinces of Basilan, Lanao del Sur, Maguindanao del Sur, Maguindanao del Norte, and Tawi-Tawi, the cities of Cotabato, Lamitan, and Marawi, as well as the Special Geographic Area’s (SGA) 63 barangays or villages — now eight new municipalities — that voted “Yes” in a plebiscite in February 2019 to be under the BARMM jurisdiction.
According to the Philippine Atlas BARMM has 4,404,288 people. It has 116 municipalities: Basilan, 11 municipalities; Lanao del Sur, 39; undivided Maguindanao, 36; Sulu, 19; and Tawi-Tawi, 11. Its component cities are Cotabato (the regional center and capital) in Maguindanao; Lamitan in Basilan; and Marawi in Lanao del Sur. (✓)
