BAGUIO CITY — The National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF)-North Luzon headed by Regional Director Bai Atty. Raihanah Sarah T. Macarimpas, one of the Commission’s better-performing regional offices, has another feathered on its cap.

A well-deserved one, to say the least!

The NCMF-North Luzon has expressed pride at the recognition given during the 36th Civil Registration Month Information Dissemination and Closing Ceremony with the theme revolving around, “Navigating the Future, Together: Advancing CRVS in Shaping the Glocal and Regional Data Ecosystem” in acknowledgement of its active participation and valuable contributions to the promotion of Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (CRVS) in the region.

Led by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), the event highlighted the collaborative efforts of partner agencies in advancing timely and accurate civil registration. NCMF-North Luzon’s recognition award reflects its continued commitment to ensuring that Muslim Filipinos, particularly those in underserved and marginalized communities, gain access to legal identity and essential government services. The event was held in San Fernando City, Pampanga, on February 27.

Through strengthened partnerships and sustained advocacy, NCMF-North Luzon remains dedicated to supporting inclusive development and upholding the right of every Filipino to be registered and recognized under the law.

The Commission’s North Luzon Office likewise conveyed its gratitude to PSA Region III, led by Regional Director Arlene Divino, for the strong partnership and continued support in advancing CRVS initiatives in the region.

In one of the NCMF-North Luzon Regional Office’s activities, it also successfully coordinated the distribution of Islamic educational textbooks to several madrasahs and torils based in the city. The Regional Office’s Cultural Affairs Division organized the distribution as part of its continuing efforts to strengthen Islamic education and support the development of Muslim learning institutions in the region.

This initiative was undertaken under the leadership and guidance of Regional Director Macarimpas, whose office remains committed to advancing programs that promote Islamic knowledge, preserve Muslim cultural heritage, and enhance the accessibility of quality learning resources for madaris (plural of madrasah) in Northern Luzon.

Through the coordinated efforts of the Regional Office, the following institutions received Islamic textbooks intended to supplement their instructional materials and support the teaching of Qur’anic and Islamic studies:

  • 1. Al Maarif Educational Center Inc., represented and received by Director Adeeb Masacal
  • 2. Omar Ibn Al-Khattab Qur’an Learning Centre, received by Director Sheikh Ahmad Pundogar
  • 3. Ma’had Al-Fatayat Lil Qur’an Al-Kareem Inc., received by the Students Affairs Supervisor, Aquiza Pundogar
  • 4. Mahad Luzon Al-Islami Center Inc., received by its President Sheikh Yasser Muripaga

The distribution of the educational materials marks a significant step toward the integration and strengthening of regional madaris within the broader mandate of the Commission. By providing standardized Islamic learning resources, the initiative supports the improvement of instructional quality and ensures that Muslim learners have access to reliable and structured Islamic curricula.

These textbooks were supplied through the Bureau of Muslim Cultural Affairs (BMCA) of the NCMF Central Office, which maintains a continuing program dedicated to the printing, development, and nationwide dissemination of standardized Islamic educational materials. This program aims to reinforce the teaching of Islamic values, Qur’anic literacy, and cultural identity among Muslim communities across the Philippines.

The activity reflects the active role of the NCMF-North Luzon Regional Office under the leadership of Regional Director Macarimpas in fostering partnerships with local madaris and strengthening Islamic education in Northern Luzon. (/)
