BAGUIO CITY — Under the leadership of Regional Director Bai Atty. Raihanah Sarah T. Macarimpas, the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF)-North Luzon, in partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), has actively participated in the awarding of Halal certifications to Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) under the DTI Halal Industry Development and Promotion Project.
This milestone activity supports the national agenda of strengthening the Philippine Halal Industry while promoting inclusive economic development and ensuring compliance with Halal standards aligned with Islamic principles.
MSMEs from Region I were officially awarded their Halal certifications recently, covering a total of 72 Halal-certified products.

In another development, the NCMF-North Luzon Office in San Fernando City, Pampanga, has transferred and is now housed in a new location at 3rd Floor, Emerald Business Center, McArthur Highway, Dolores, San Fernando City, Pampanga, effective on March 31, 2026.
Anyone who wishes to transact or have some issues or concerns that need the office’s assistance may visit the new office.

The awarding ceremony signified not only regulatory compliance but also the enterprises’ commitment to quality, ethical production, and inclusivity in catering to Muslim and global Halal markets.
DTI Regional Director Merlie Membere underscored the importance of sustained government–private sector collaboration in developing a robust Halal ecosystem in Northern Luzon.
Meanwhile, Dimnatang M. Radia, program manager of the DTI Halal Project Management Office (PMO), presented the strategic directions and “ways forward” for the Halal Industry at the national level.
The event was further strengthened by the presence of Alex M. Sultan, president and CEO of the Halal International Chamber of Commerce and Industries of the Philippines (HICCIP), who reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to continuous collaboration in ensuring the competitiveness and sustainability of the regional Halal sector.
A major highlight of the activity was the official launching of the Halal Products Digital Catalogue, which serves as a marketing and promotional platform to enhance the visibility and market reach of Halal-certified products locally and internationally.
NCMF’s participation reinforced the importance of authenticity, credibility, and alignment with Islamic standards in Halal certification processes.
The NCMF-North Luzon extended its heartfelt appreciation to DTI-Region 1 for organizing and leading this initiative. At the same time, the Commission reaffirms its continued support in promoting Halal awareness, strengthening MSME participation, and fostering inter-agency partnerships toward inclusive and sustainable socio-economic development.
