COTABATO CITY — Bangsamoro Parliament Speaker Mohammad S. Yacob, Ph.D., received officials of the Committee on Data Privacy and Information Security (CDPIS) and representatives of KPMG R.G. Manabat & Co. during a courtesy meeting held on June 15, 2026, at the Speaker’s Lounge, BTA Building.
Leading the delegation, CDPIS Chairperson and SCSS Director Atty. Abdel Jamal R. Disangcopan, briefed the Speaker on the progress of initiatives aimed at strengthening data privacy and information security within the Bangsamoro Parliament.
The meeting served as an opportunity to discuss the progress of institutional efforts to enhance governance systems, improve organizational readiness, and promote compliance with data privacy and information security standards.
Speaker Yacob welcomed the updates and reaffirmed the importance of safeguarding information and strengthening public institutions through sound governance practices. He emphasized the role of data privacy and information security in fostering public trust and supporting effective public service delivery.
Representatives from KPMG likewise expressed their commitment to supporting the Parliament’s continuing efforts toward institutional development and capacity-building initiatives.
The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to further advance programs and measures that contribute to a secure, accountable, and responsive Bangsamoro Parliament.

Much earlier, the Speaker also welcomed and received representatives of AHA! Behavioral Design, John Dominic E. Rodriguez, manager of Key Accounts and Project Coordination for BARMM, and Angela Marie R. Garcia, director for Innovations and Technical Advisor for BARMM, during a courtesy visit on February 20, 2026, at the Speaker’s Office, Bangsamoro Government Center (BGC).
During the meeting, AHA- Behavioral Design shared insights on advancing leadership in behavioral health policies and highlighted how behavioral approaches can embed desired behaviors into planning, legislation, and frontline implementation.
The firm presented its “behavior-first” framework, which identifies critical decision-making moments, key actors, and system gaps to strengthen policy impact through evidence-based research. They expressed their commitment to legacy building and to pioneering the institutionalization of behavioral science within the Bangsamoro government.
The meeting concluded with a shared interest in exploring how behavioral insights can help sustain the spirit and intent of laws for future generations. (/)
