CLARK CITY, Pampanga, July 23, 2026 — Signaling the start of the nation’s premier skills competition that will determine the next batch of Filipino champions bound for international competitions, the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) officially launched on Wednesday, July 22, the WorldSkills Philippines Clark 2026 competition.
Carrying the theme “Your Skills, Your Future,” WorldSkills Philippines Clark 2026 underscores the vital role of technical skills in shaping brighter careers, empowering Filipino youth, and preparing them to thrive in an increasingly competitive global workforce.
The skills competition, set to take place from September 7 to 11, 2026, at the Clark Freeport Zone in Pampanga, will bring together around 350 competitors from TESDA’s 18 regional offices, all of whom had earned their spots after emerging victorious in their respective Regional Skills Olympics.
“This competition is a showcase of technical excellence. Through WorldSkills, young Filipinos have a platform to demonstrate their world-class skills and prove that Filipino talent can compete and excel on the global stage,” TESDA Secretary Francisco “Kiko” Benitez said.
Formerly known as the Philippine National Skills Competition, the event now carries the official WorldSkills Philippines brand, reflecting its full alignment with the standards and framework of WorldSkills International. The rebranding reinforces TESDA’s commitment to raising the quality of technical vocational education and training (TVET) and ensuring that Filipino workers are equipped with globally competitive skills.
Competitors will vie for top honors across 30 skill areas covering Construction and Building Technology, Manufacturing and Engineering Technology, Information and Communication Technology, Creative Arts and Fashion, Social and Personal Services, and Transportation and Logistics.
Beyond recognizing technical excellence, WorldSkills Philippines Clark 2026 aims to promote quality, productivity, innovation, and industry relevance in Philippine TVET, benchmark Filipino skills against international standards, strengthen partnerships between government and industry, and identify the country’s best talents who will represent the Philippines in regional and global WorldSkills competitions.
The event also builds on the Philippines’ successful hosting of the 14th WorldSkills ASEAN Competition and the country’s record-breaking performance, further strengthening the nation’s position as a regional leader in skills excellence.
Apart from the skills competitions, the week-long event will feature an opening ceremony, conference sessions, skills exhibits, cultural activities, and the General Assembly of WorldSkills Philippines, bringing together industry leaders, educators, trainers, government partners, and technical experts to advance the country’s skills development agenda.
WorldSkills Philippines operates under the authority of TESDA and serves as the country’s official organizing body for national skills competitions. Gold and silver medalists from the competition may be selected to represent the Philippines in WorldSkills International, WorldSkills Asia, and WorldSkills ASEAN competitions, where they will compete alongside the world’s best young skilled professionals.
WorldSkills Philippines Clark 2026 is conducted pursuant to Section 30 of Republic Act No. 7796, or the TESDA Act of 1994, which mandates the conduct of an annual national skills competition to promote quality skills development and prepare Filipino talents for international skills competitions.
The skills competition also directly addresses President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s directive to equip Filipino workers with globally competitive, industry-aligned skills, and fulfills his mandate to elevate the country’s TVET to international standards. (/)
