TAGUIG CITY — Filipinos looking to upskill, secure certifications, or find better livelihood opportunities continue to put their faith in the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), naming it the country’s most approved and trusted government agency for 16 consecutive quarters.
In the PAHAYAG Third Quarter 2026 survey conducted by PUBLiCUS Asia Inc., TESDA registered a 59 percent approval rating and 41 percent trust rating, maintaining its lead among surveyed government institutions.
The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) followed with 49 percent approval and 32 percent trust, while the Commission on Higher Education (CHED)recorded 46 percent approval and 32 percent trust. Meanwhile, Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) registered 46 percent approval and 31 percent trust.
The results come as the administration of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos, Jr. continues to pursue a future-ready Filipino workforce through accessible, relevant, and quality technical vocational education and training (TVET).
TESDA Secretary Francisco “Kiko” B. Benitez said the results reinforce the agency’s responsibility to deliver accessible, relevant, and quality technical-vocational education and training (TVET) that responds to the needs of Filipino learners and the changing demands of the labor market.
TESDA remains dedicated to ensuring that more Filipinos have access to quality skills training, etc.
“Ang patuloy na tiwala ng publiko ay inspirasyon para lalo pa naming pagbutihin ang aming serbisyo. Patuloy naming palalawakin ang access sa de-kalidad na skills training, palalakasin ang ugnayan sa industriya, at sisiguraduhing mas maraming Pilipino ang magkakaroon ng pagkakataong matuto, makakuha ng sertipikasyon, at magkaroon ng mas magandang oportunidad sa trabaho at kabuhayan,” Benitez said.
He emphasized that TESDA is pursuing reforms that connect skills training with employment opportunities while making learning more accessible to Filipinos, including those who need foundational learning support or want to develop competencies in emerging technologies.
Under Benitez’s leadership, TESDA has strengthened skills development and expanded access to industry-relevant training through innovative initiatives like the Skills Passport, digital and AI courses, the Train LOKAL (Localized Opportunities for Knowledge Access and Lifelong Learning) program, and multi-industry partnerships to help Filipinos acquire competencies aligned with evolving labor market demands.
It is also strengthening education pathways through the One Education initiative with DepEd and CHED to strengthen coordination across the education and training sectors and establish clearer pathways from learning to employment.
The agency’s global competitiveness efforts were highlighted at WorldSkills Shanghai 2026, where Filipino competitor Carlos Antonio Delos Reyes won a bronze medal in Hotel Reception, alongside other Filipino Medalists for Excellence.
Moving forward, TESDA remains dedicated to ensuring that more Filipinos have access to quality skills training, certification, and employment opportunities, in line with its mission of building a highly skilled, globally competitive, and future-ready Filipino workforce.
