Last Suspect in Kidnap-Slay Case of Muslim Woman in Nueva Ecija Surrenders; NCMF-North Luzon Helps Family

Upon the instructions of National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF) Secretar loly Saidamen B. Pangarungan, the NCMF-North Luzon Regional Office, headed by Regional Director Atty. Raihanah Macarimpas, with NCMF Administrative Services Director Abdullah Macarimpas, traveled to Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija on August 5, 2021 to verify the status of the kidnapping and killing of Nadia Casar involving five policemen and two civilians.

The NCMF team met with Nueva Ecija Provincial Director PCol. Jaime Santos who informed and updated the team about what had transpired from the time the witness-Grab driver identified one of the police-perpetrators of the crime, until his arrest and the search for the other four suspects.

While the investigation of the case is headed by the PNP Anti-Kidnapping Group (AKG), the Nueva Ecija PNP was tasked to search for the policemen and facilitate their surrender. All suspects where eventually tracked down which led to their arrest.

As to the administrative case against the five police suspects, Provincial Superintendent PLtCol Jose Calimarmo will expeditiously initiate the administrative case for the dismissal from service against the suspects, as directed by PNP Chief PGen. Guillermo Eleazar.

The NCMF team then met with Cabanatuan City Police Chief PLtCol Julius Ceazar Manucdoc. His team was able to arrest the remaining suspect.

Regional Director Macarimpas then updated the family of the victim through a virtual call with the assistance of Ustadz Fahad Abdullah. The family of the victim also updated RD Macarimpas of the proceedings in Camp Crame and DOJ.

The preliminary/inquest investigation of the case is currently ongoing in the Department of Justice (DOJ). The NCMF Team is waiting for the information on the case to be filed by the DOJ for further legal assistance to be provided to the victim’s family.

Together with Director Macarimpas were Legal Division Chief Atty. Nor-ainah Daragangan, Cultural Division Chief Engr. Monadatu Datumanong, staff Sheik Acmad Pundogar, Ali Jefferson Beronio, Saad Muripaga, with Nueva Ecija Muslim Association Officers led by President Latiph Malambut. Various community leaders from Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, and other areas of North Luzon also traveled to Cabanatuan City to show their support for the case of Nadia Casar.

The PNP Nueva Ecija headed by Provincial Director PCol. Jaime Santos, and the Cabanatuan City Police Station under PLtCol Julius Ceazar Manucdoc, sincerely express their sympathy to the family of Nadia Casan for her painful death under the hands of the policemen. They stressed the condemnation of the PNP for such horrendous acts. They relayed their commitment to contribute in the attainment of justice for Nadia and her family. (NCMF-BER)
