MANILA — The Pokémon Company has released the recent updates about the Nintendo Switch and mobile device (iOS/Android) software title, Pokémon Champions.

Pokémon Champions will be the VGC software for Worlds 2026

The Pokémon World Championships are the pinnacle of competitive play for the Pokémon video games, the Pokémon Trading Card Game, Pokémon GO, and Pokémon UNITE. Starting in 2026, Pokémon Champions will be used as the VGC software for the Pokémon World Championships.

Championship Series events in the run-up to Worlds will also use Pokémon Champions. Look forward to battling and determine which Trainer is the best in the world!

Master Mega Evolution in Ranked Battles

Under the first set of rules for Ranked Battles held in Pokémon Champions, Pokémon will be able to undergo Mega Evolution. Anticipate intense battles between Mega-Evolved Pokémon.

The Omni Ring–A Battle Essential

The protagonists of this title wear a device called an Omni Ring. This functions as a Key Stone that’s necessary for Mega Evolution, similar to the Mega Rings that appear in the Pokémon video game series. Other special features may soon be added to the Omni Ring in the future, so keep a close watch.

The Omni Ring was created as an exclusive device for venues to allow people to enjoy battling. Research is being conducted to make it capable of drawing out a variety of Pokémon capabilities.

Mega Dragonite is coming to Pokémon Champions!

Mega Dragonite, a Mega-Evolved Pokémon newly discovered in Pokémon Legends: Z-A, will be appearing in Pokémon Champions too!
