(SDN) — The Police Regional Office in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (PRO BAR) headed by Police Col. Arthur Cabalona will soon have a new headquarters in Camp Salipada K. Pendatun, Parang, Maguindanao.
One of the line agencies of the Bangsamoro government — the Ministry of the Interior and Local Government (MILG) — is funding the PRO BAR HQ’s construction. As well as many other construction projects, such as public terminal, municipal hall, barangay hall, PNP station, public market, and others.
MILG Minister Naguib G. Sinarimbo and Cabalona broke ground and planted a time capsule for the project in Parang, a municipality that travelers pass by going to Marawi City, Lanao del Sur.
The Bangsamoro region is comprised of Basilan, Lanao del Sur, Maguindanao, Sulu and Tawi-Tawi provinces, the cities of Cotabato, Lamitan, and Marawi as well as 63 villages designated as Special Geographic Area (SGA) in North Cotabato province (which itself is not part of the region).
The MILG head said the PRO BAR HQ is worth Php40 million with no less than the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) highest official and the PNP’s head officiating the groundbreaking ceremonies on February 22, 2022.
“We break grounds today for the construction of the new Regional Headquarters of the Philippine National Police in the Bangsamoro at Camp Salipada K. Pendatun in Parang Maguindanao. The ceremony was officiated by Chief Minister Al-Hajj Murad Ebrahim and the PNP Chief Gen. Dionardo B. Carlos,” said Sinarimbo.
He said the project is funded with Php40 million which is fully funded by the Bangsamoro Government thru the MILG and the local government.
“The Bangsamoro Governmwnt believes that a secure Bangsamoro will result in a prosperous Bangsamoro,” the MILG head said.
Wao Public Market project
Meanwhile, the MILG continued its construction projects in the region with another public market for the municipality of Wao, Lanao del Sur.
He noted that Wao is a settler-dominated municipality in Lanao del Sur and with a functional Municipal Enterprise Development Office (MEDO).
“We also handed over to the Wao local government unit (LGU) half of the allocated funding for this Php25-million project so it can be implemented immediately,” Sinarimbo said.
Ministry of Public Works (MPW) head Minister Eduard Guerra joined the event, as well as other LGU executives and BARMM staff. (✓)
