(SDN) — Elections are a numbers game; the candidate with the most number of votes wins. That simple.
It means that in every political exercise such as the May 9, 2022 national and local elections (NLE) is a battle of numbers. It also means the more alliances, pledges of support a candidate gets the better for her or his chances to emerge at the top of the heap.
Especially, if the support materializes into warm bodies putting ink to paper the name of every voter’s chosen candidate, say, Vice President Leni Robredo of the Bicol Region, one of this year’s 10 presidential aspirants.
For the officers of private-operated madrasah schools in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), if they are the only voters, would have VP Leni Robredo win the 2022-2028 new administration. But they are not the only voters; for this year’s political exercise, registered Filipino voters number 65.7 million, based on Commission on Elections (Comelec) data as cited by the Philippine Center for Investigative Journalism (PCIJ).
Banded altogether as the Accrediting Association of Muslim Schools and Colleges, Inc., (AAMSCI) the “administrators, faculty, staff and parent teacher association (PTA) of the Private Madaris (plural of madrasah) in BARMM and Region XII are one in supporting your candidacy as President of the Republic.”
They made their support known through a letter they sent to VP Leni Robredo, dated April 29, 2022.
“We do, hereby, attached our signature opposite our respective Madrasah to testify the veracity of our unified stand to make you as our incoming President of the Philippines, In sha Allah,” they said.
The schools and the respective signatory officers are:
- Noorul Elim Academy Foundation, Inc., Pikit, Cotabato, Region XII, Dr. Dingan C. Ali, school president
