COTABATO CITY — The Ministry of Basic, Higher and Technical Education (MBHTE) has hired a total of 61 non-teaching plantilla positions in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).

Covered by the newly hired are items such as Assistant Superintendent, Directors, Supervisors, and Nurses.

This was following the mass oath taking ceremony and signing of appointments held today, May 16, at Robinsons Hall, Alnor Convention Center in Cotabato City, the capital and seat of the Bangsamoro region.

The Bangsamoro region is composed of the provinces of Basilan, Lanao del Sur, Maguindanao, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi, and the cities of Cotabato, Lamitan, and Marawi, as well as the Special Geographic Area (SGA) made up of 63 barangays or villages in North Cotabato that opted to be under BARMM jurisdiction. North Cotabato itself is not part of the region.

As a new political entity (NPE), the BARMM was established through the Bangsamoro Organic Law (BOL) to implement the 2014 Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro (CAB).

MBHTE Minister Mohagher M. Iqbal personally extended his congratulations to the employees, saying that “despite our challenges in the Bangsamoro education sector, I do not doubt you will do your best to guide our children and help them unleash their full potentials.”
Further, he encouraged the newly hired personnel to study the Bangsamoro Education Code which he said is “critical to our work”.
“As we move forward, we should remain optimistic and continue to serve the children and people of the Bangsamoro with vigor and commitment. Moreover, we will remain true to our vision: No Bangsamoro Child will be left behind,” he added. (/)
