(SDN) — The Arab State of Qatar has felicitated the Philippines and the Filipino people on the commemoration of its 124th Independence Day.
The greetings was made by Qatari Ambassador Dr. Ali bin Ibrahim Al-Malki on behalf of his country and citizens.
Qatar and the Philippines have a strong a diplomatic relations which continue to grow. Figured reckoned from 2017 showed that the Arab nation is home to over 260,000-strong Filipino community, a vast majority of them migrant workers.
On June 12, 2022 the government under President Rodrigo R. Duterte commemorated the 124th anniversary of the founding of the Philippines now with more than 110 million-strong population scattered on 2,000 of its 7,640 islands.
“I am pleased to extend my congratulations to the Philippine government and people for the celebration of the 124th Anniversary of the Independence Day of the Republic of the Philippines,” says Ambassador Al-Malki.
Below is the full text of the Qatari envoy’s message sent by the Embassy of Qatar to SDN — Science and Digital News.
“Greetings of Ambassador Dr. Ali bin Ibrahim Al-Malki in celebration of the 124th Anniversary of Independence Day of the Republic of the Philippines 2022″
“I am pleased to extend my congratulations to the Philippine government and people for the celebration of the 124th Anniversary of the Independence Day of the Republic of the Philippines.
“I would also like to convey the greetings of the government and people of Qatar, for our Filipino friends I appreciate the relationship and cooperation between the two countries, as well as the good friendship of our citizens. I hope that this will continue to progress.
“We ask Allah, the Almighty, to perpetuate the blessing of health, security and stability, and further progress and development.”
Qatar is one of the six members of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), which collectively has more than one million overseas Filipino workers (OFWs). (✓)
