SINGAPORE, June 14, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Aiming to empower Southeast Asia, 2MR Labs has delineated a vision and plan to bridge Web2 businesses to Web3 technologies, generating a sustainable Web3 ecosystem consisting of real value and utility. The thriving start-up announced today the closing of a funding round featuring Heliconia Capital and has also secured strategic partnerships with XM Studios, a leader in the collectibles space; The Assembly Place, a co-living company and Culture Cartel Pte Ltd; purveyors of street culture and other big brands.
XM Studios, a Singapore-based global design studio specializing in the creation of hand-crafted luxury collectibles and licensee of several popular Intellectual Property licenses in the pop culture space, will be launching their first series of Non-Fungible Token (NFT) with 2MR Labs in Q3 2022. Other partners like The Assembly Place will also seek to launch their first NFT collection for their members. By creating a unique token that is only available to their residents, the exclusive membership serves to forge stronger bonds within the community. Similarly, Culture Cartel is set to launch their NFT series for fans while showcasing their artists’ talents in street culture.
"We are determined to transform how businesses and people connect through blockchain technology, particularly in Southeast Asia, by eliminating the friction experienced by Web2 businesses exploring Web3 technologies. This funding round will help us grow and provide larger opportunities to unify and push Southeast Asia to spearhead the global Web3 movement," said Arthur Lin, CEO of 2MR Labs.
Recently, there has been growing interest in Web3 by businesses due to increasing popularity and media attention. With Web3’s potential, revolutionary collaborations between brands and customers will elevate the strengths of traditional businesses. It will also aid in the expansion of hyper-engaged communities and cement brand loyalty. 2MR Labs seeks to bring out the true value of blockchain technology and help businesses discover viable opportunities to create close-knitted communities, simultaneously enhancing the brand experience for customers.
By aggregating resources from its partnership ecosystem, one can anticipate a myriad of offerings from 2MR Labs. One notable offering will be Upstairs, a custodial Web3 marketplace designed to facilitate ease of buying, trading, and selling of digital tokens simply on mobile application. Other offerings will include Move-to-Earn (M2E) games, digital retail merchandise, and In-Real-Life events such as the Zombie Run – Run for Your Lives (RFYL). Digital asset owners in the ecosystem will also receive ‘out-of-this-world’ rewards from SpaceChain, led by Zee Zheng who is also an investor of 2MR Labs.
2MR Labs is also delivering its corporate social responsibility with authentic and honest storytelling as seen in the recent Thaddybear fundraising campaign. The Thaddybear campaign is set out to support Thaddeus, an 8-year-old child battling Neuroblastoma, a type of rare childhood cancer that affects less than 10 children in Singapore each year. Sponsored by 2MR Labs, the campaign has successfully raised over $1m SGD in the span of a week and will continue to increase efforts towards supporting communities in need of help.
